New Typhoon Maintenance Facility

The contract was a new build consisting of a two storey office block and maintenance hangar with associated workshops and stores at RAF Coningsby for the new fleet of Typhoon aircraft. Both RAF and BAE Systems personnel will work together in the new £18 million hangar constructed over the last two years.

Work Completed

The office block incorporated the following services:-

• LPHW Compensated and Constant temperature heating circuits.
• High level radiant panels and AHU heater batteries.
• VRF Comfort Cooling systems with heat recovery and free cooling.
• Mechanical heat recovery ventilation systems.
• Chilled Water systems.
• Building energy management system, connected to the site wide network.
• Door access & intruder alarm systems
• IT infrastructure for Secret, Restricted and Conventional communications
• Fire Detection and Alarm installation
• Public Address system
• Automatic daylight & occupancy controlled lighting systems
• Emergency lighting systems
• Specialist power supplies for aircraft servicing equipment

The hanger incorporated the following services:-

• Mechanical heat recovery ventilation systems
• Gas Fired radiant heating
• Door access & intruder alarm systems
• IT infrastructure for Secret, Restricted and Conventional communications
• Fire Detection and Alarm installation
• Public Address system
• Automatic daylight & occupancy controlled lighting systems
• Emergency lighting systems
• Utility supplies to all specialist equipment and aircraft servicing facilities
• Specialist power supplies for aircraft servicing equipment
• Automatic and Manual Foam Fire Suppression system
